Soutine

Taking inspiration from the great boulevard cafés in Paris, Soutine is designed to be a comfortable and inviting restaurant complimenting the history and heritage of St John’s Wood. Influenced by the strong artistic community of the area, the St John’s Wood Art School between 1847 and 1911, this has been a guiding factor in aesthetic and overall development of the space.

The front room and pavement offer relaxed café and bar seating, leading to a more formal dining room at the rear. The space is sumptuously detailed with highlights including an opulent stained-glass skylight and bespoke hand painted mural wrapping the staircase to the bathrooms, echoing the spirit of the neighbourhood in the early 1900s.  Artwork plays a key role in not only defining the aesthetic but also in celebrating the art and cricket synonymous with the area. Soft and feminine in approach, the restaurant boasts custom-made mosaic flooring in nicotine and putty colours, while brown leather and floral-patterned upholstery a nod to the Arts and Craft movement that the restaurant is set in.
