Gallery is a space that is respectful of its own heritage, yet distinctly modern. The new design is timelessly sophisticated and effortlessly graceful, complete with high end materials and finishes befitting of the hotel’s long documented heritage.
The transitional nature of the space means that Gallery had to work both as a place to enjoy a morning coffee or an after dinner cocktail. BradyWilliams’ expertly selected colour palette of Sienna, Tan, Blush and Ochre aligns with this perfectly, creating a vibrant welcoming space by day, and a moody, seductive enclave to enjoy by night. Bold burnt Sienna toned columns create drama within the space, emphasising its height, and mirrored surfaces play with perspective. Bespoke lighting features, designed by BradyWilliams and made by Atelier Lighting, create the perfect ambience, allowing the space to transition from day to night with ease.
Inspired by the story of a daring couple standing up to dance during dinner at the hotel in 1912, BradyWilliams commissioned street artist Atma Art, and Michael May of Rostron & May to paint images of dancing figures across Gallery’s wall panelling. The subtly executed artwork reimagines the movement of a bygone era, adding interest to the walls of the space, whilst also providing a visual representation of the idea that the hotel, its history, and its guests are all inextricably linked, each an important part of The Savoy’s history and continuing legacy.
