The Portrait,

by Richard Corrigan, London

The restaurant at the top of the portrait gallery is iconic for its postcard view of the city and its memorable landmarks. Many guests visit the space to catch a glimpse of this iconic skyline. Key to our vision was ensuring the beautiful architectural façade of the National Portrait Gallery was brought to life and captured within the interior so that its façade formed part of this breath-taking skyline. We have created custom bespoke hand sewn fabric panels illustrating many aspects of the exquisite façade. A sense of handmade craft was integral in the creation of this restaurant space.

The overall palette has tones of butter yellow with shades of heritage green. The colour palette compliments the many beautiful heritage colours that have been chosen throughout the gallery spaces. Tones of green create a warmth within the interior cocooning the guest while ensuring the overall design feels elegant with a modern edge.

A carefully curated set of sculptures ensure the art of the gallery is central to the art of dining.
